Wednesday, October 4 – 6:00-7:30 p.m. Informational meeting at Medina County District Library – 210 S. Broadway St. – Comm. Room
Tuesday, October 10 – 6:00-7:30 p.m. Informational meeting at University of Akron – Medina County University Center – 6300 Technology Lane
Saturday, October 21 – 1:00-3:00 p.m.  Informational meeting at Medina County District Library – 210 S. Broadway St. – Comm. Room

Thursday, November 2 – NOON  Applications due into school guidance counselor’s office for pick up

Thursday, November 2 – NOON  Feeding Medina County/application drop off location for private and home schooled students (901 Lafayette Road, Medina)
Sunday, November 19 – 2:00-4:00 p.m. Orientation Reception for  2018 Honorees at Distance Learning Lab, Medina High School (across from gymnasium)
TBA – Volunteer at Feeding Medina County
TBA – Social
TBA – Tuxedo fittings for presenters and escorts at TBA.  Payment of $90 is due at the time of fitting. Cash/checks only, please.
Pampering Day, February 3- noon-3:00 p.m. Salon Rootz 3725 Medina Road.
Saturday, March 10 – 10:00 a.m. – Formal staircase photo at Medina Country Club 5588 Wedgewood Road.
Sunday, April 22 – 2:00-4:00 p.m.-Formal Tea at Williams on the Lake 787 Lafayette Road, Medina.
Week of April 23– Three nights of rehearsals 6:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. (specific evenings to be determined based on Weymouth Country Club scheduling)
Saturday, April 28 – 4:00 p.m.  60th Annual Spring Leadership Ball, in Service to Feeding Medina County
Sunday, April 29 – 1:00pm – Return tuxedo to Weymouth Country Club
If selected as a 2018 Honoree, the young women will participate in the following functions:


Honorees and their mothers, stepmothers or guardians are asked to attend this informational gathering on Sunday, November 19th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Distance Learning Lab at Medina High School (across from the gymnasium). At this time, members of the Spring Leadership Ball Committee will explain the various activities associated with the ball and will answer any questions you may have. The young ladies will be recognized as honorees and have the opportunity to meet one another and the various Spring Leadership Ball committee women with whom they will be working.

Formal Staircase Photograph

A formal staircase photo is taken and will appear in a local newspaper in the spring. The photo shoot has been scheduled for Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Medina Country Club, 5588 Wedgewood Rd. Honorees will wear their white ball gowns and be photographed together and separately. All dresses MUST meet final approval by this date.

Formal Tea

This event is attended by the 2018 Honorees and their mothers, stepmothers or guardians, grandmothers and other special guests. Joining them and their special family members will be various distinguished guests, the Spring Leadership Ball committee members, and members of Feeding Medina County. This delightful afternoon for the girls and their guests enables them to mingle with each other and to be recognized by our committee and distinguished guests. The tea will be Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Williams on the Lake, 787 Lafayette Rd.

2018 Spring Leadership Ball Honorees Presentation

This is a very formal affair to be held at the Weymouth Country Club Ballroom (3946 Weymouth Rd., Medina) on Saturday, April 28, 2018. The event will combine past tradition with modern leadership honors. Formal recognition is given to all the young ladies as they are presented as The 2018 Spring Leadership Ball Honorees in a setting filled with family and friends. Included in this application is “The Story of the Cotillion,” highlighting some of the traditions of the dance and the required accomplishments of young women as they debut into society. After the cotillion dance is completed, the evening will continue with dinner and dancing.
*Additional functions can include: an honoree pampering night, a social event for honorees/escorts, and a service experience with Feeding Medina County.  More information will be shared following selection.
